New changes to the HHD Study Design!!!

So, VCAA's decided to change part of the study design mid year! Not to worry though, it's all related to Unit 4, AOS2, so it's likely you haven't learnt the content just yet ;)

Basically, what's changed are the WHO priorities. In a nutshell, they used to be these 6 leadership priorities:

Social, Economic and Environmental Determinants
Health related Sustainable Development Goals
Universal Health Coverage
The International Health Regulations
Increasing Access to Medical Products
Non-Communicable Diseases

(These are likely the ones in your textbook, so you can just ignore these now)

and now, they are these new 3 strategic priorities:

Addressing Health Emergencies
Promote Healthier Populations
Achieving Universal Health Coverage

(this one is the only one that’s remained the same)

They've also changed the key skills too - in addition to the old key skills, you now have to link the priorities to SDG 3

So, if you've checked the study design recently, you've probably noticed this change isn't actually there. That's because the VCAA haven't actually changed it quite yet; they've just added a document on the same page where you find the link to the study design (inconvenient, I know!) You can find this here - https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/curriculum/vce/vce-study-designs/health-human-development/Pages/Index.aspx

This info can be quite bit to take in (especially at this point in the year), so if you'd like a more detailed breakdown, check out this new article on the AN website - https://atarnotes.com/vce-hhd-study-design/ - and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here!
