ive been through it myself, my friend who had a tutor from xin jing san did chinese SLA 2008 and that teacher was his oral examiner, both knew it but still did the oral, he ended up with 46.
theres more, and it's not just politics, theres too much luck involved in chinese LOTE, if u got SL for ur oral examiner ur basically screwed (gloamy would know what im talking about :P)
Yeah, I get it with piano, but what do you mean SL oral examiner?

S.L is an examiner, that is his/hers initials. I can reveal no more.

There are many more examiners, but S.L is the worst.

Ok then, how do I avoid getting this examiner? And why is he/she so bad - does he/she terrorise you when you come into the exam room?

You can't avoid getting this examiner unless if you are being assessed at a certain school in Victoria.

As for why they are a bad examiner, the many horrors that cannot be named.  Not that S.L. is terrorising in any way, they are just...  conservative with their marking.  'Nuff said.  :)

Lol it says Scotch College 2009 on his profile. How come he doesn't examine there?
Wait, so does SL go to XJS Mt Waverley or MGGS - either of them?

NOOOOOOOOO I AM DOOMED

Depends where your school is and where SL is at the time of the oral exams.  Like TT said, it's all about luck.  Lucky for me, I received news just prior to my exam that SL was pretty much all the way on the other side of town when I was going to sit my exam.  :)

It changes from year to year.  That's all I know.  I'm not sure how the process is.  I don't know but maybe they can put in their preferences so they don't end up having to drive up all the way to woop woop?
