Be able to analyse the texts and engage with language and textual construction.  Anything more specific?

If your teacher is anything like mine, 50% is fine. As the first SAC of the year, and if she's grading as she would the end-of-year exam, then that means you're doing fine for where you're at, but impovement can be made. Don't stress yet :)

Hoping for an ATAR of 90.

How are you ranked in relation to the rest of your class?
Did a lot of people beat you?

I'm in the middle of the year level. However there were 3 full marks!

In a decnt cohort you'd get 30ish. You just need to practice more and use feedback to it's fullest to improve your marks. You can still get to the top 10% of your cohort if you work hard enough - putting you into 40+ contention.

Getting 50% on your first SAC of the year could be a blessing in disguise. This will give you an opportunity to see where your faults lie. You now have a good chance to improve in time for the next piece of assessment.
A poor mark at the start of the year can be quite a bitter pill to swallow, but think of it as something you can learn from :)
