You can do all three maths, but only two of them will be allowed in the primary four.

just wondering, can you do all three maths (methods, further, spesh) or does vcaa not allow it?

will it count towards your ENTER? or will one of the maths be counted as not applicable or as a compulsory 7th subject?

from what i know. you CAN do all 3 maths. but no more then 2 can be counted in your top 4 resulting study scores. this mean for example.

you do further, methods and specialist

but in ur top 4 for your ENTER you may only have the combination of 2

eg. english
     specialist
     further
     other sub

you cannot have all 3 in ur top 4, but it is included in urover all ENTER with your 10% addition per sub

*Specialist Maths.
*Maths Methods.
*Chemistry.
*Legal Studies.
*English.

As if this is a place where people dont laugh at your ENTER.

ENTER does not determine how smart you are. so you can STFU now...thanks
also, PM ME if you have a problem. bring up a problem which CONCERNS ME only, not half of VN who also do the same action.
thanks

So the top two are counted as primary four, but the bottom is STILL counted as a 6th or 5rh subject?

does anyone have the link to vcaa? im just concerned just in case they wont allow it due to a sudden change + also the teachers dont seem happy to allow it!!

that is correct. there was a link on another thread that had the vcaa thingy on it. i'll try find it

but dont listern to teachers >.> do whatever you like :)

but like some have pointed out.
further is pretty competitive. its hard to get a 50 study score as u can hardly drop ANY MARKS!

also, only 3 subjects from the same KLA can be counted towards the ENTER.

There are some restrictions on how certain combinations
of studies may be counted for your ENTER.
In each of the study areas of English, mathematics, history,
information technology, LOTE (Languages other than
English) music and VET:
»» at most two results can contribute to the Primary Four
»» at most three results can contribute to the ENTER, the
third being counted as a 10% increment for a fifth or
sixth study
If your ENTER incorporates an Extension increment from
any of the study areas of mathematics, English, LOTEs,
music, history or computer science/information technology
then no more than two VCE results from the same study
area can be used in the calculation of the ENTER.
There are other specific restrictions where two or more
studies have similar content, or where studies have been
combined.
Note that commencing with the 2008 ENTER calculation,
there will be no restrictions on the number of VET results
that can be counted in the ENTER.

it will count in top 4, until sometime late this year / early next year when the rumour starts [again, as usual] that it can be kicked out, then after a week of excitement, reality crushes and it is back into top 4.

yes

and no, it will never change.

The rule actually changed in 2007, to allow the top 2 (any of the maths) in the primary four. Previously the rule was that only one of either Further or Specialist was allowed in the primary four (no rules on Methods). I believe this rule affected Brendan in 2006.
