Last year the minimum aggregate for a 99.95 was 210.04

Im not sure if chem, bio or eco scales over 50, but in any case you would want to get close to a raw 50 in all your subjects if you want to achieve a 99.95 atar.
2019: Methods [50] Japanese SL [48]
2020: Latin [35] Specialist Maths [50]  English [44] Chemistry [44] UMEP Maths [4.5]
ATAR: 99.90
UCAT [3100]
2021-2023: Melbourne Uni Bachelor of Biomed

They don't scale over 50 as a matter of fact even methods does not scale over 50 in recent times. That is pretty unfair. Does anyone else feel this way?

It is probably unfair that despite getting 50s for all your subjects it still doesn't eventuate to a 99.95 (and I think even if you did score 50 with your subjects you probably won't get there) - however there's probably a few lens you can view this from

1- Statistically it's pretty much impossible for you to get 6 50s anyway (historically there has been ~1 person in all of VCE who has achieved 6 50s and that person did 7 subjects) so this is very likely a hypothetical question in totality

2- If you did somehow get 6 50s and your aggregate was 210 that still almost always eventuates in a 99.90 which for all intents and purposes gets you the exact same set of benefits as a 99.95 except for some very specific situations at some universities.

3- There is honestly much more to life than getting a 99.95. I have seen course friends with 99.95 ATARs struggle to get jobs that they want and many students with <98 ATARs being perceived to be more desirable. I know for a fact that several employers actually see a 99.95 on your CV as a burden as opposed to a benefit because if your university trajectory is not living up to what the average 99.95er was meant to be achieving, you are likely to be seen as someone who has 'lost their game/mojo' and as a consequence people question what happened to you even more.

4- Life is, unfortunately, unfair. Just look at indigenous Australians who suffer systemic disadvantages in their education at pretty much every turn in their life, if you were born in a lower socioeconomic family background and never had the resources to support your learning and growth or if you were born with a disability. It's what you make out of it that ultimately matters because from every single one of these disadvantaged pools there are numerous success stories of those who have overcome their obstacles and challenges to be a true inspiration.
