Who's doing international studies this year?
Are you doing anything in the holidays to give you a head start on the year?
Or, for the people who did it last year - any tips?

I'm doing national politics, which I think, is under International Studies.

Anyway, we have to familiarize ourselves with the new ministries for both the Labor and Liberal parties, follow the caucuses in America and do notes out of textbook (which doesn't arrive till after school starts).

But I suggest if one is taking either of the International Studies subjects, to read articles in the paper that concern politics. If you really enjoy these subjects, you should be doing that already.

im doing international politics :) and yeah I have about the same homework as Andy pretty much, with some questions from the text book. (it seems more like its an overview of Unit 1 & 2) - anyway what i've been doing is gathering concepts and definitions of 'globalization'; 'internationalization'; and that sort of thing, since you need to have a broad understanding, and there aren't set definitions. Answers.com is handy for that.

And make sure you sign up to the VCE deal with The Age. It's really important to read the newspaper.

hmm one thing. for the end of the year Exam . Is the Essay based on Globalisation and Internationalism cause thats what is says in the VCAA Study guide ??

"Section B will be worth 40 marks and will consist of essay-type questions on a speciŽ ed area of study. Each
year the area of study will be rotated."
The rotation will be
sample paper – Australian foreign policy
2006 – Australian foreign policy
2007 – Power in the Asia-PaciŽ c region
2008 – Global conflicts
2009 – Globalisation and internationalism

Yeah, our teacher told us that it rotates every year and that this years rotation falls on 'Globalisation and Internationalism'. She's been Nazi on the whole essay thing for like ... the whole year hahaha. I'm just a little scared about the time constraints. Argh, these essays are a pain.
