Hey,
I personally don't exactly disagree but don't exactly agree either, which is common in all as we all have different views. In saying this, I'd like to present my views on which selective school is the best.
1. Nossal High School
This school, being only 10 years old has climbed up the ranking ladders very quickly, and is co-ed (boys and girls) which appeals to many people as opposed to single gender schools. Moreover Nossal High School accepts the least students each year (200) whilst Melbourne high takes 300 and similar with macrob. So I think Nossals selection process is harder, as they have fewer places, competition is with both genders and not just one.
2. John Monash Science School
Being s specialist school, jmss offers many science based electives that students can engage in. Moreover it is located in Monash uni and students have access to their facilities. Also accepting 200 students, and competing with both genders, its competitive.
3. Mac.Robertson Girls High School
Being a girls school, macrob has a high reputation like nossal and jmss, and performs well each year. They accept around 300 students, and the school was established in the early 1900s (i think)
4. Melbourne High school
A boys only school, Mhs offers many subjects that link to vce subjects and uni courses (e.g
Biomedical science) from year 10, and also perform well in vce each year. They accept 300 students each year, and the competition is with boys only, meaning there is a higher chance as opposed to schools like nossal, which has lower spots and both genders.
5. Suzanne cory
Located in Werribee, this school caters mainly for people living in that area, thoughmany people travel long distances to get there. Schs also has 200 spots and does well in vce.
6. Elizabeth Blackburn Science School
Another specialist school in Science, though it isn't as known as the other schools, further to why I personally place it here. But its a great school for Science orientated students.
