i found out this bit of info
those who have not gotten an email yet are ones who still have a chance with second round offers, but first round offers are finished. rejection emails will be coming after those who have passed the interview have been chosen.

I have no idea, but I'd assumed they'd still be happening in order for them to gauge how well we work with others, and how sociable we are.
