This is absolutely ridiculous; you can claim almost anything in a blog or an opinion article. 

I’m sure 99.95% of parents would never even consider a divorce in order to get their child a place in a good school, nor would they even think it would benefit them.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but it just seems rather outlandish. I'm sure the parents would've required the divorce anyway...surely.

....that's actually pretty funny...
I'm hoping this was an isolated case... it seems unbelievable, then again, I shouldn't put it past people.

it is only absolutely ridiculous if the claim is unreasonable...
it seems that the claim has a basis, somewhat... :P

I know of divorces in China where the single mother status granted some social security payments that allowed the family to live closer to the child school so the kid doesnt need to travel an hour+ to school (and he was in primary school)
