Topic is now locked. Thanks everyone for asking your questions.
If you've still got questions, feel free to ask the appropriate board. If it's too specific, contact the appropriate institute or pay them a visit during their Change of Preference Day(s) if they're having one. I collated a
list of Victorian institutes that are having Change of Preference Days this year, including registration links where applicable.
Here's a list of posts that mods have posted about some of the most commonly asked questions: PhoenixxFire's
Didn't get the ATAR for Access Melbourne/Monash guarantee?Miniturtle's
Guide: I didn't get the clearly in - should I change my preferencesPhoenixxFire's
Missed out on pre-reqs? Bridging courses are available (Swinburne and Monash)...and some of the most common questions in this Q + A: Q: What's the chance of me getting into X course?
A: Your chance will vary depending on your circumstances, demand for this course and the amount of spots available. Whatever it is, if [insert course] is what you want to do the most and you have fulfilled everything (e.g. prereqs + other criteria) wiith(out) the lowest ATAR, leave it at first preference. If your ATAR is lower than that of the clearly-in/ lowest ATAR accepted, insert at least one course that you would be comfortable studying and have all the criteria, including ATAR, prereqs and so forth as a preference.
If it's on your preference list, there's at least a possibility that you'll receive that offer. If not, there is basically zero chance.
Q: Are notifications from this SEAS/inequities program out yet? Did I qualify? (I checked my spam folder already.)
A: Most are still going around. Please ask the appropriate people, if need be. Access Melbourne seems to be still processing and is delayed.
Many of these programs (excluding Monash Guarantee and Access Melbourne) may not provide notification of whether you received your SEAS or not, unless you get a guarantee from them.
Q: I want/ need to transfer after a semester/ year of study. Will they use my ATAR?
A: If you're transferring after one semester of study, your ATAR may be considered with your university grades. If you're transferring after a year of study, only your university grades will be considered majority of the time (AFAIK).
Q: When is X scholarship out?
A: Scholarships may arrive sometime between ATAR release to offers, with some excellence/ merit scholarships being a little closer to the ATAR Release Day. I'm not sure of second round offer dates; that's something to research and ask the institute yourself. Most have not been offered as of typing this post (just past midnight on December 17 2018). Please wait patiently until time comes.
