57/60 on the exam will get you a 50, provided you're rank 1. i'm not sure how much you being rank 2 for unit 4 would affect you though, so i'd probably say 48-50 to be safe. it depends on how well rank 1 goes on the exam really

could someone help me with a prediction for further? i'm not sure what rank i am, so i'm wondering how well i'd be able to do with a low a+ for sacs if i did better on the exams. thanks heaps!

Okay, if you're ranked 1st, that's a 46.

Business Management: Cohort is mediocre, top 4/5 is competitive
GA1: 97/100 (Rank 1 - actually got this)
GA2: 94/100 Rank1/2
GA3: 120/130

Further Mathematics
GA1: 95/100 (rank 8-10 or so - very very very competitive cohort, people have already done like 20-30 exam papers...like WOW - we have 2 extension math classes from last year doing further this year, we did units AGM (spesh 1/2) in year 10, we are the 2 year 11 class - we are very strong. The other 5 year 12 classes are medium-weak)
GA2 (exam 1): 74/80 low A+
GA3 (Exam 2): 105/120 low A+

Thanks, a reply would be awesome and also provide some motivation, Thanks!

Hey outstanding,

sorry i was a bit brief
with my scores GA1: 92/100 rank 2nd
 and lets say GA 2 : 98/100 Rank 1
overall rank 1 or 2 with a high A+ on the exam what would i be looking at 50 out of reach?
also with a low A+ would a 40+ still be possible?
Fairly weak cohort btw

I'll attempt to do the math predictions but don't blame me if I'm completely off =p. OID can awkwardly fill in the gaps!

SAC 1: 89/100 (really low A+)
SAC 2: 36/40
SAC 3: 75/80
for Methods?
43-45

Methods
GA 1: 95/100 (Very strong cohort, ranked anywhere between 1-20)
GA 2: 38/40
GA 3: 75/80
47-48

Further Mathematics
GA1: 95/100
GA2 (exam 1): 74/80 low A+ (37/40)
GA3 (Exam 2): 105/120 low A+ (52.5/60)
38-42. Further is ridiculously competitive at the high end - Yacoubb lost 4 marks over his exams and got a 46.

Further Math
U3: 94/100
U4:97/100
Exam: High A+
46-50. Your figures are a little vague, and also note that your SAC scores make up GA1, so they are not separate for Unit 3 and 4.

Methods:
GA1: 88/100
GA2: 35/40
GA3: 70/80
41-44

By the way, I'm predicting based off last years exams - it can make a difference in Methods as last years exams were pretty tough in my opinion. Not so much of a difference in Further though, as the difficulty is around the same (getting ever so slightly harder though recently!)

Haha will OutstandingInDivination be here in December? That's when I'll probably be posting my predictions :)

Farr out, 4 marks lost and he got 46? That's like, lose a mark, lose a study score.

Does anyone know if HHD is like that as well? Do you have to get 100% to get 50?

I think it has more to do with the comparison of a result with others results. So if you get 100%, it is highly likely to yield a 50 coz you will probably be ranked (equal) first or very close to first. But say if you get 97% and that is the highest mark, than you can get 50 in this case as well.

I might be generalising a bit, but basically the study score is more or even completely about comparison of an individual with others.

Hey Z

Further Mathematics
GA1: 95/100
GA2 (exam 1): 74/80 low A+ (37/40)
GA3 (Exam 2): 105/120 low A+ (52.5/60)
38-42. Further is ridiculously competitive at the high end - Yacoubb lost 4 marks over his exams and got a 46.

Say i got this

GA1: 95/100
GA2 (exam 1): 79/80 high A+
GA3 (Exam 2): 118/120 high A+

would i be look at 45+?

It's true. In Further last year, losing 4 marks could bring you down from a 50 to a 46, while in Methods, losing 4 marks would bring you down from a 50 to 49. It's all about how others perform.

GA1: 95/100 Assuming Rank 1!
GA2 (exam 1): 79/80 high A+ 39.5/40
GA3 (Exam 2): 118/120 high A+  59/60
A 79/80 is impossible for Further Exam 1, because it is completely multiple choice, your mark out of 40 is just doubled. If you got 39/40 and 59/60 you'd get a 49. If you get 40/40 and 59/60 you'd get a 50. Pretty straightforward at the 45+ end. :P

Also guys, I encourage you to look at this thread here, which is the Statement of Marks/Study Score thread from last year. AN users have posted their GA1, GA2, GA3 (after moderation) and their resulting study score. I'm quite sure you guys will find it helpful.
