I wonder though whether they base this on the last financial years income or in another way....
I just made over $11,000 last year but this financial year I'm not on my way to over $11,000.

Well the thing on the news I cant verify from the bill. In the bill it says you just need to have a taxable income between nil and $80,000 to get the 950

I don't think I'm eligible which is a shame. I work hard and pay quite a bit of tax (job and share trading) and think I deserve the $950 cash bonus. All I can think about right now is some of the tax I paid making its way into the pockets of 'working families' and not back into mine. Anyhoo

Um how ridiculous that it misses all students who earn under $11000 but whose parents earn too much to receive YA.. But whose parents arn't going to throwing $1000 at them instead because the YA income level is low enough to mean that they have no spare money whatsoever! Talk about shit.

I'll get Youth Allowance in May (once I'm 18 months out of school - indepent). Am I going to miss out on this by a month because if so fuck.

I think you had to have met all the criteria as of February (when the bill was introduced)...like you had to have had YA as of feb (Im pretty sure I remember reading this in the actual bill itself).
