It's just the local students place at the uni, it's either full-fee or CSP, where one you pay heaps (international students) and the other you don't as we are local students (CSP)..

To clear, a CSP place is good for you. It means you pay less, accumulate debt, however you don't have to pay it off until you earn enough money to pay it off.

Full fee places are bad. You have to pay more money, and pay upfront.

if i'm reading this right, you can have a CSP, but not accumulate debt if you don't get a HECS loan.

That could only work if you pay for your course upfront. Yes you will only pay for the discounted amount which prevents you from accumulating debt. However I believe you have to hand in your Tax File Number anyway

i'd rather pay upfront if i could afford it and avoid the debt. i was just pointing out that csp and hecs are actually different things.

They can be deferred.

Although it is larger amount to pay compared to HECS-HELP

Full fee paying concerns shouldn't be much of a problem unless you're an international student or a Melbourne Model post-graduate student.
