What should I do?

Hey guys,
I'm currently in the process of choosing subjects for year 11, and just have a quick question regarding methods. I would like to do it, but am worried that I wont be able to cope. At the moment I am getting an A average for year ten math, but I am aware that, because of illness, I have missed out on a considerable amount of school in years five, eight and nine. Which means that I may be lacking some of the foundations. Is the jump from year ten to year eleven significant? Should I get tutoring to ensure that I can manage?
Sorry for the ramble!

I would advise you take it on. Firstly it is a big prerequisite for a lot of courses that you may wish to pursue later on, and you'll kick yourself if you didn't know until it was too late.

Secondly, there is always further to drop back to. If you find you can't cope with the concepts and workload, it's very easy to pick it up without having done Units 1 and 2.

All the best.

If you're getting an A average in year 10 math then I would say do Maths methods. As for the school work you missed out on, you can iron out those problems by doing practice questions over the holidays and/or getting tutoring.

Also I'm pretty sure you can downgrade to further Maths if you feel overwhelmed.

I think you're in a very good position to do methods. An A average in year 10 is commendable.

As for missing out on years 5, 8 ,9 you should be fine. The fundamentals from those years (only really 9 counts) are Pythag, Linear and Quadratic Functions, Chance and Data (Probability), and maybe some stuff to do with shapes (similar/congruent triangles etc.)

You should be fine :)

As for a tutor, if you're struggling to learn the material yourself, get one, if not, probably no need to worry about it too much.
