Hi! I have no clue what will be the technique for this line.
"it was impossible to dissociate even the sought-after Estella from all those wretched hankerings after money and gentility that had disturbed my boyhood."

Is it ok if someone classifies this for me? Thanks so much and help is much appreciated :)

Not too sure if I'll be helpful because I haven't studied Great Expectations. But regardless, the quote uses the motif of money which represents social prestige, focusing on how wealth creates the perception that a particular person is better than one another.

Here are my sources:

https://www.enotes.com/homework-help/what-role-played-by-money-great-expectations-254529

I'm sure there are other techniques for this quote, but this is the main technique I found while searching on google.

Hope this helps,
