Well, maybe not you. But I have a few serious questions for this forum:

1. Why the hell are there soooo many study score predictions threads? Seriously, why do you even care about what your predicted study score is? What difference does it make to you. On that topic, if you did actually need a predicted score for a legit reason. Why on earth would you ask some year 11 on an internet forum who has no idea what your school's rank is like or whether your predicted exam score is realistic? Surely you could get a better prediction from your teacher who has been teaching VCE for years, knows your school better than anybody and can easily give you the most accurate estimate of your SS.


FFS, the majority of you guys are 17-18 year olds in the prime of your youth, don't you have better things to do than keep asking for a SS prediction from some random on the interwebz?

These people want to do the best they can now, and it will help later on in life. Is there anything wrong with that?

Isn't there a board for all the SS prediction type stuff. You could just choose to ignore that thread you know.

I kind of agree that I don't really care for study score predictions myself, but I can see why people would want to know them. I don't really know the accuracy of these predictions and stuff. It gives them a sense of where they are at and what they need to achieve. Or like Nacho says, they find reassurance.

Some people like to strategise and see where their focus should be (e.g. when you get people saying I'll let that drop into my 5th/6th/12th subject and focus on this subject for my top 4).

For some it seems it's because they haven't been doing well and they need to know what they can achieve. After all, what's the point in putting your effort into a subject you can only receive a less than desired study score for (since you screwed up sacs or what not) when you could be focusing on a subject that you've done a lot better in and have a good shot at getting good score.

Do you have anything better to do than to make a thread just to say this? Calling people you've never met in real life as 'retards' because they care about their VCE, is shallow and naive in my opinion.

I don't have a problem with people caring about their ATAR, I endorse it. Getting kents to predict your scores is not caring about your ATAR. It is being insecure and stressing about it instead of dealing with the stress effectively.


I have no problem with people working hard, that is a good thing. I only have a problem with people being insecure and asking for a prediction every 5 mins clogging the new posts feed. If you're worried about your score, go and work harder instead of getting false security from some random off the internet.

I reckon the SS predictions are fair enough. And they don't exactly clog up the noticeboards, otherwise more of us would be complaining about it.

Anyone else see the problem... first you ask an obvious question, and then you ask why we talk about important things on the internet, before proceeding to explain the reasons why your choice of joining a forum, and reading a certain thread, is "pissing you off"...

But what's the sense in mindlessly working hard when you don't know what results are required for the score(s) you want?

Just let them ask what they want, it's a VCE forum for a reason.
