Gentlemen's semi-finals:

Anderson got up over Isner 26-24 in the fifth lol. I didn't see much of it, but it must have been a crazy finish. Have to wonder what sort of impact that'll have on Anderson going into the final. Honestly still finding it difficult to believe he beat Federer considering the circumstances. In the other semi, Djokovic is currently 2 sets to 1 up against Nadal. I guess an Anderson v. Djokovic final looks likely.

Ladies' semi-finals:

We have our final match-up already of Kerber v. Williams. The latter will be gunning for her eighth Wimbledon title, and 24th (I think) Slam. Amazing.

Tips?

Men’s final: Anderson has been playing some excellent tennis and definitely deserves his place in the final. Like you’ve mentioned, though, the fatigue of two 5-setters may work to his detriment. As concerns his potential opponent, I really hope it is Nadal, but think it may be Djokovic. Djokovic has, for the most part, been very clinical this tournament. So I think he may do some damage when the match resumes.

Women’s final: Props to Serena. It would be nice to see her match the record of Margaret Court. But I think Kerber will be a tough opponent. She’s a real fighter. Either way, it should be an entertaining match!

Whoever wins Nadal v Djoker should win both have a lot more grand slam final experience. Federer had one of the easiest draws to the final (although Nadal US Open 2017 was much easier) but couldn't make it  :'(

and obviously Serena a heavy favourite in the final but Kerber should make it a competitive match.

It's in my opinion highly unlikely that Nadal or Novak wins it. I'm leaning towards Kevin Anderson, not only has he been on fire but he's seen out two consecutive and lengthy 5 set matches, against two of the biggest veterans on the tour. As for the women's, I reckon Kerber is too smart for Serena. We saw it in the Aussie Open two years ago as well, her ability to make Serena dance to her tune is brilliant. Just my opinion tho.

Anderson has a problem with finals most likely something mental :/ He's 4-12.

As for Kerber I'm hoping she wins but might just be a repeat of 2016 wimbledon

I'm hoping Anderson will win because I've been following him since he lost in the semis to Roddick at the Brisbane International seven years ago and it's nice to see him come this far (he was ranked ~60th then). He is always so gracious in victory or defeat. Although he is probably gassed given the insane matches against Federer and Isner.

I think the winner of the Men's Singles will be the winner of Djokovic - Nadal.  Would be good to see a new Slam winner, and Anderson would be deserving, but I just think he'll struggle in the final with exhaustion and playing a proven multi-Wimbledon winner.

Before the semi-final I picked Djokovic to win, and 2-1 up overnight seemed to confirm that.  Right now with Nadal winning the 4th and on-serve in the 5th it's hard to tell.

As for Anderson, I watched the third set of Anderson-Federer, and he was just the better player in the second half (though it had looked headed to a straight set victory for Federer after he held to love three games in a row...)  Still was a surprise to wake up and find Anderson had pulled off a five-setter.

I also tuned into the semi at about 4-4 in the fifth rather than going to bed as I should have, and both Anderson and Isner looked good with the serve.  Anderson felt like he had a slight edge, but neither could get a break.  I think it was about 18-17 when I finally switched off, and was glad to see in the morning that Anderson had finally won.

Couple of other points:
1. I'm glad to see Djokovic back. Part of the reason I backed him for the semi-final was that I thought he had shown something significant just by making a semi-final again (though Nadal did too - first time since 2011).

2. While I know the scheduling became more difficult after the Isner-Anderson match, I don't think it was fair to bump the Women's Final to after Nadal-Djokovic finishes (if it finishes?)  Putting it after would make for a predictable final, and could also make conditions closer to what they were when Nadal-Djokovic started...

The first point is exactly why I was backing Novak. I've seen 4-5 interviews of him over the past few months and I can sense that he is extremely unhappy inside with how his tennis is going. I mean yeah he had a child and all, but it seriously looked like he was just discontented by the impact it had on his tennis + the unfortunate injuries that wasted 2 years of his prime. Considering he was by far the most ambitious and hungry player on tour between 2009-2015, this was bound to happen. Glad to see him back, hopefully the final will be a cracker.
