The significance of an individual is created more by themselves than by the events of their life.
To what extent is this statement true in relation to Speer and his period of national or international history?

Hey guys, so as part of my assessment I need to write a 600 word essay on this question. I was just wondering what the best way to approach this question is: To sit on the fence and discuss both sides or just heavily focus on one side.

What points should I mention and what would a strong thesis look like?

So far my thesis looks like this: It is accurate to claim that an individual’s significance to the study of history relies on their actions, circumstances and ideologies. However, it is must also be acknowledged that events in their life are equally important in shaping the significance of an individual.
