You'll need to do Methods 1/2 and also General Mathematics Advanced 1/2, which is basically a fancy name for saying specialist 1/2. Make sure you choose that one and not the normal general mathematics which is the pre-cursor to Further 3/4.

Does your school offer specialist? Many schools don't due to lack of interest.

At our school there is General Maths A (becomes further) and General Maths B (becomes specialist)
Maybe you should ask your teachers because you definately need to do spec 1/2 (well at our school anyway)

umm... You have to do Advance General Mathematics in order to do Specialist! :)

If your school doesn't offer it I think you can do it thorugh Distance Education... but then again if they offer spesh they should offer AGM! :S

You'll need to do Methods 1/2 and also General Mathematics Advanced 1/2

You don't need to at all. In fact I'm pretty sure you don't have to do Methods 1/2 either (I remember a few here saying they just needed to show proficiency with maths and could do Methods 3/4 in year 11).

I did Methods 1/2 and did Specialist and Methods in year 12.

im planning to choose 1/2 English, Chem, Bio, Methods, Legal studies and   3/4 Psychology

With those subjects you can do Methods and Spec in year 12 fine.

I've heard that a lot of schools don't offer GM advanced.

maybe it differs from school to school, we had to do GMA and methods 1/2

however from personal experience, GMA doesn't help that much.
