I've heard heaps about how elite they are and stuff, as in Deloitte, KMPG, PWC and E&Y. And that cadetships with them are incredibly competitive but once you get a degree how hard is it exactly to get a job with one of them?

I'm not sure how hard it is, but you do need a reasonably good GPA alongside a good amount of other activities and a bit of job experience would also be useful. The majority of people I know who get accepted by these firms also tend to do internships. Unpaid work sucks, but if you can get it, it is actually helpful career-wise.
