They re-open on the 3rd I'm sure. They may still be going through names.

Hi all,

I figure I would let students enjoy their time off over the holiday period. I will resume calls this week. Please do not worry.  As for the double enrolments, if you have signed up for both courses, we ask (for you to qualify for our scholarship) that you do two units of EACH certificate you enrol in within 30 days of being enrolled.

Please let me know if you guys have any further questions.

Regards,
Tim

sorry if this has been covered already, but it appears some of the certs mentioned in the original post aren't approved by the RTO in Victoria, namely:
'Upskill provides training for certificates in Business, Business Administration  and for the Diploma of Management.'

I read that blob of text and didn't know what to make of it. would these certs still be valid and able to be used in victoria? just wanted to make sure before/if i tried it out

Unfortunately their training providers might come under several different codes.

You'd be looking for 'UpSkill', 'Talent2', and 'OriginHR'

That said, I'm not sure what you mean by saying 'valid and able to be used'. No one is going to say that your Cert isn't 'usable', the tick is an indication of whether it can be delivered, not the actual approval of the course. Even then, I don't think many people will say something that is deliverable and valid in NSW is worth 0 in VIC.

Also it's the Victorian Government that is giving you the bulk of your funding/scholarship.

I'll contact them to find out why that tick isn't there if it's enough to put you off.

Hi guys,

So I had an idea today. I note that many are beginning to be disheartened having not received a call yet. The reason I call students individually is to get an idea of what you are studying and to see how a program like Upskill could help with some key soft skills.  I also note that the process of individual calls makes getting to students quite slow.

In response to this. I figured (as we have to physically sight a students ID during the month of January), that I would hold information sessions about Upskill certificates at the big Universities (Melbourne, Monash, Deakin, La Trobe)  At these sessions students would be able to ask all the questions they want about the course, listen to me talk about the features, benefits and qualification criteria. Then if students wish, they could fill out the forms then and there (no more printing and scanning back) and they could also show me their IDs. This would dramatically increase the amount of students I could get to in one go. That being said it would be a little less personal. So I would hope that students would still call and email me.

I will be drafting an email today to get out to the students remaining to be contacted. These sessions will be brief and will also severely cut down the time the enrolments process takes.

I just thought it could be beneficial to students who want to get started ASAP. The sooner I organize this the sooner students can get started. If you haven't heard from me yet, expect an email tonight!!

Let me know your thoughts.

Regards,
Tim

In regards to finishing 2 units in the first month so you don't have to pay up; I have completed the first two units and I was just wondering do they have to be fully corrected to be classed as "complete" because all the assessments for both units have been marked and have a tick next to them apart from the two end of unit assessments which are yet to be marked - and my month is up on the 16th this month.

Thanks :)

You won't be penalized if it's a result of delayed marking.

Obviously to be safe, try to finish 3-4 days before your deadline :)

Just wondering how long it takes for people to jump from the Cert IV to diploma, been waiting for a little while.
