ANU Accommodation!

Hey guys, just filling in the ANU accommodation form online and I have NO idea what to put for college preferences. :-\

So do any ANUers have any recommendations? Could anyone could give me a run down of the main halls/colleges and generally what the people are like in each? Are any predominantly made up of one ethnic group or are all the colleges generally mixed?

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Oh, and what self-catered options are available? I don't mind cooking or cleaning if it's generally cheaper. :)

There are some opinions in the last 2 pages of this thread How do you afford the costs?
Sorry if you've already read through those.
I'm also not sure where I should apply for accommodation since there are so many options!

If you can cook then definitely take the self-catered route. Off memory the rent for the catered Halls are ~$300 in comparison to the 170 odd they charge at Fenner/B&G. You'll be saving around $60-70 most weeks if you can mostly cook during the week. Remember you'll probably eat out at some point during the week anyway so some of that money going towards the catered college will go to waste.

Not Fenner, unless you fancy taking a bus to uni everyday
It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.
