Subject selection dilemma: Further maths vs Legal Studies

Hey,

I have a dilemma at the moment. I'm Year 11 this year, and I'm doing: English, Methods, Chemistry, Physics, Accounting 3/4 and Economics.

Although I'm doing two science subjects, I'm not really a typical 'asian', that being, a math/science student.

I'm looking to drop Chemistry, and I'm considering changing to Further 3/4 or Legal Studies 3/4 in Year 12 without having done Units 1/2.

I enjoy writing/theory based subjects such as English, History, etc. so I thought Legal may be ideal. However, I haven't done units 1/2 which is a big concern for me. Having spoken to the Legal Studies teacher at my school, he tells me it isn't overly difficult to pick it up and encouraged me to do it for obvious reasons.

Further, on the other hand is considered an 'easy' subject, so technically speaking I wouldn't be behind the eightball. I am not a maths whiz and I don't really enjoy maths, but I do consider myself to be pretty adept in this field (avg ~96% in methods). Further would be an easy choice for me, but I am not passionate about maths, which is why I'm hesitant.

Which subject should I pick up? At the moment I'm leaning towards Legal.

Thanks

In my opinion I'd take Legal. Whilst Further is ridiculously easy to the point of stupidity; it's easy for everyone, meaning at the top level it's very competitive. Eg. To scrape an A+ in Exam 1, you would need a minimum of 37/40 multi-choice questions correct. Doesn't matter how good at math you are, you could misread a question, make a calc error etc. And if you don't enjoy math but you're good enough to be getting high scores in Methods, I honestly think you'd want to headbutt the table (I didn't do any Math in Year 11, and may as well have not been in class in earlier years, I'm taking Further this year because I need it as a prereq, and it's easy even for me)
Legal on the other hand suits a strong English student. It's a straightforward exam, there aren't really any tricks, you just have to remember the content. And I found it pretty interesting (some say it's bland). I took Legal in Year 11, last year, without having done 1&2. I was a shit student as well, managed to scrape a 35, so  you should have no issues in scoring well.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

Dont underestimate further, its not as easy as everyone else makes it out to be (If it was, everyone would ace their exam and get a high study score) and in reality many capable students fall short come exam time. Further is all about repetitiveness and minimising mistakes. If your good at number crunching(dont necessarily have to enjoy it) then pick further but if your good at reading then legal is the better choice.

I didn't do Further last year and I dropped 4 marks on my last prac-exam.
However I think it was a mistake taking further, since I haven't learned anything in it.
I really regret not doing Spesh distance-ed instead.
I wouldn't really recommend anybody, who is good in math (considering 96% as good) to take Further in year 12. I would recommend it to do in year 10 or 11.

If you're going to keep a maths anyway, I would pick legal. It's good to keep a maths particularly if you don't yet have your heart set on a career/course. You will be surprised how legal can actually compliment other subjects, for me I often use ideas brought up in english and literature essays. :)

Like others have said, those aiming for over 40 in furter have a LOT of competition...it is not uncommon for students to get higher scores in methods and specialist than in further. Remember, in methods you'll need a 35-36 to get a 40, while in further you'll need about 43. (Why do I know this off the top of my head?)
