how will tournaments work?? I used to play on ICC but switched over to chess.com a while ago. I believe we can create a tournament but someone needs a membership, and change tourney to invite only? I can get one if needed,

I'm considering getting the membership so the tourney can be held ;)
I'm definitely saying invite only, so we definitely know who's who. :)

Why will chess.com not let me make an account?

I reckon we'll test the lichess tourney software before we do chess.com b/c lichess is free

https://en.lichess.org/tournament/new

I guess lichess then, it's free + available on all platforms. We'll have to organise a time then. these tournaments are live so they aren't those daily ones. For daily tournaments where one move takes 1 day to 14 days, we'll have to use chess.com and someone needs a premium membership for that :)

Interesting game. You had mate 10 moves prior.

Move 18. Knight takes h7 check with queen, then Queen g6 is mate  :P

Yeah I definitely fucked some things... I have dilapidated thinking in the end game. I never really think "what's the quickest checkmate". I just sort of go through the motions of "he can't get me if I do this, and it would threaten him more so I'll do it". Even with material advantage on an open board I usually just push for a queen- getting an elegant checkmate definitely not my strong suit.
