Hi guys! I'm pretty sure you guys addressed this earlier but I wasn't able to find the article or thread about it. I was sent an offer by Western Sydney this morning for a course, but I'm still waiting on an offer from my first preference. If I accept Western Sydney's offer, I was wondering if I'd still be given an offer for my first preference course? And can you back out of an offer once you accept it, or are you bound to it? Thank you so much, I'm just so confused by it all.
Yes, because you receive exactly one offer every round and it's always for the highest preference available. And this applies to any university (under UAC).

And you are not bound to it; that would defeat the purpose of one offer every round.

hey guys i'm a vic student applying to ANU and am not sure how the UAC offer process works.
I want to start my course next year semester 1 (Feb), so which offers are relevant to me?
Will I receive an offer for the next round (dec21st) or do I receive the offer in the Jan (with the vic students with VTAC)?
2016: Bio[45]
2017: Eng[43];Chem[47];Methods[49];Spesh[46];Physics[44]
2018+: B-Biomed @unimelb

You'll be eligible for an offer with everyone else in the main round (Dec 21) if your preferences are in! ;D

Hey Guys,
First of all thanks for the free lectures, notes, and replies. It really helped me achieve my atar goal, could not achieve it without you guys. Anyway Im in a dilema right now between choosing Bach. Information Tech at UTS or Bach. Information Communication and Tech/ Bach. Business at UWS. I think im more gravitated into choosing UTS just because of the internship involved in the course. My problem is I enrolled into both unis already and chose my subjects and specialisations. Is it possible to unenroll into a Uni ive enrolled in. Have u guys gone through the same dilemma before cuz I want to approach this problem the best possible way I can. Thanks in advance.

I can't offer any first hand experience to help you make the choice, but one of them having integrated work experience is a big plus. Industry experience is a huge differentiating factor to help you stand out amongst the plethora of university graduates these days. I'd be giving major points to UTS for that too if I was in your shoes.

You can definitely 'unenrol' from WSU or UTS, provided you do so before the census date (still a fair way away yet, google "Census Date UTS/WSU" and it should pop right up). If you don't, you'll be liable to pay for the courses you've enrolled in so far (usually a few subjects so a few thousand dollars). You don't want that, so make sure you make your choice reasonably quickly and get that sorted! :)

Both are great institutions so there is no "wrong" choice, do what feels right :)

Hey guys

So I got an offer in the December main round and have accepted it. But I’m hoping for an offer from anu in this January round. Will they still give me an offer even though I have accepted one already?

Thankyou!

Yes, this is always possible as per the "(at most) one offer EVERY round" rule

Hi!

Receiving and accepting an offer from a previous round won’t affect your chances of getting an offer in the next round! As long as you’ve moved the offer that you’ve accepted down the list and put your ANU course preference as first, you should get a place if your selection rank is higher than the ATAR requirement. :)

I checked UAC, you have until midnight today to change your preferences!
Life is weird and crazy as heck but what can you do?

In the same vein, if I got an interview from a uni, does that uni have to remain as my first preference?

Nope. You can always reject any offers and/or cancel offers already accepted regardless of the circumstance

Hi, I'm waiting for January Round one preferences and my first choice is Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/ DVM at USYD. My status is still decision pending - additional selection criteria and I have contacted UAC and they say my application will be assessed for Round one. However, shouldn't my status be eligible because they have checked if I meet the additional criteria. Does anyone else have the same status of me or has yours been changed?

Hey guys,
In November I accepted early entry for commerce at UOW (through uac) , but now I no longer want to study there. So, I accepted and enrolled into my december round offer, the Bachelor of Science in IT at UTS. However, UOW still send me emails asking me to officially enrol on their website. Is there anything I need to do e.g. call them?

Calling them would be the best idea. Because basically you're cancelling an offer you already accepted, so unless you know how to cancel the offer yourself you better ring them up and say that you don't want that offer anymore.
