computers w/ steve

Welcome to my journal, strap in for its occasional posts of questionable quality full of scatterbraining.

About Me
I finished VCE in 2017
Tried programming for many years in Highschool until I found Python in 2015
Currently enrolled at the University of Melbourne in Bachelor of Science majoring in Data Science.

Why Data Science?
- Machine learning is a buzzword as of 2018 still but still sounds interesting
- The course structure aligns with my strengths, computing and math
- Still have an interest in math (2018 :Z) and want to pursue something in that direction

What is Data Science?
Dunno, but apparently you make hoog stacks if its your job title!!!1
Seems to be a renaming of a statistician or actuary, although I donít have much of an interest in finance currently.
Would love to do work for a game like this guy.

After the end of my first semester I made a course plan that I hope to keep posting as it updates.

My second year first semester will be pivotal. Depending on how I go and how much I enjoy probability I will stick to data science or drop to computing and software systems. How much I like real analysis will determine if I will be taking math electives or computing electives in 3rd year, or if I really like it, switch to a mathematics major altogether.

18/12/2018 First Course Plan

This journal will document my experiences and changes in plans. Iím curious to see how my goals change up as the years go on. I will use it as a brain dump about things so I can stop thinking about it. Feel free to ask/give questions/suggestions. :)
