If you don't do the subjects considered as 'assumed knowledge' for a course, does it lower your chance of getting accepted into that course? (Even when you've reached the atar requirements and prerequisites)

I must've missed this back in January.

No. Not satisfying the prerequisites won't lock you out, but not satisfying the assumed knowledge criteria is ok. It will probably mean you struggle a bit more at the start though.
