Bachelor of biomedicine opportunities

Hi,
Iím considering biomedicine at Melbourne next year, but Iím also thinking about biomed scholars program and science - advanced (research) at Monash because of the extra opportunities like scholarships, mentoring, networking and research projects. Iím wondering if anyone has had similar opportunities at Melbourne.
If there are such opportunities, how hard are they to get? Monash suggests that these are guaranteed as a part of the course, but Melbourne doesnít, so Iím guessing theyíre quite competitive?

Sorry I have absolutely no experience in the area and I know preferences closed a couple of hours ago. What did you end up deciding and why? ;D

I ended up choosing Melbourne biomed, mostly because itís easier to get to and Melbourne felt more inviting to me than Monash. Iím not sure if itís the best choice for me, but I think Iíd be happy in any of those courses.
