difference? Specialised Masters &Master of Engineering

Master of Engineering => new gen course of 3 years (anything but engineering)+2 years of this
A two year Masters, accredited internationally through Engineers
Australia, is available to graduates with a suitable background in
engineering. An extended Masters (of up to three years) is available
to graduates with approved prior studies in maths and science.

Specialised Masters  => its like 4 years old model engineering + this thingo
1 or 2 years duration
Programs for engineers, technologists and scientists seeking
to deepen their specialisation or broaden their expertise in the
following fields:
g Engineering Management and Project Management
g Information and Communication Technology
g Biomedical Engineering
g Environmental Engineering (including the Built Environment)
g Geographic Information Systems and Technology

but what's the difference between the two qualifications to the future employer?

 ???
well the limit can turn into a threshold..

I heard that you cannot choose 'any' undegrad...you have to choose those that can take an eng breath sequence or that major in a eng major...
A future employer would probably prefer a clean engineering undergraduate degree if you're asking about that. As for the masters side of things, from what you've said it seems that a master of engineering is for people who do not have sufficient qualifications to be a full engineer whilst specialization is for people who already have a profession looking for further enjoyability. I don't think that they will actuality be in direct competition with each other.

Or, can you do a specialized masters after say, the undergraduate science degree with an engineering major (instead of the masters of engineering) ?

If so, ignore everything i've said

If you have done a BSc or BBiomed with a major in <something> systems, then you get to jump into a 2 year MEng. If you have done engineering breadth in BCom or BEnv, you also jump into a 2 year MEng.

If you have *not* done the engineering subjects at undergraduate level, you do a 3 year MEng, the first year being a transition period, by second year you are at the same point as those who had done the relevant subjects.

The specialised Masters degrees are an extension to what is normally required to be an engineer. It *is* a different qualification (does not accredit you as an engineer, as you would already be one) and employers would know the difference.
