Iso refers to equal/same.

When you talk Osmotic, you refer to osmolarity.

so Iso-osmotic means an equal amount of solute particles, that is, concentration/L.

When you talk tonic you refer to the pressure, or more correctly the osmotic pressure of a solution in general. Therefore isotonic means solution of equal amount of osmotic pressure.
