Workload in a double degree

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows what sort of workload you would have in a double degree - as compared to a single degree? Is it significantly greater/more stressful?

Basically, would someone doing a single Engineering degree have an advantage in preparing for his subjects against someone doing say Science/Engineering? (Similarly to how a Year 11 doing a 3/4 subject is able to devote more time studying for the one 3/4 exam)

Commerce/Engineering is probably quite a bit easier than just a straight engineering degree; depends on how you set up your course. Can't say for Science/Engineering, but I'd say it would probably around the same difficulty.

Is it really? What specifically would make it easier haha? I've had my mind set on comm/eng for a long time but i've been given the impression that commerce is a real bitch recently. Are you doing comm/eng at the moment? How would you set up your course in order to make it easier?

Thanks heaps man

There is no reason a double degree is more stressful than a single degree. In most double degrees you still do 4 subjects a semester (as is standard for all degrees). Sci/eng is the same as single science or single engineering in that you have the same amount of hours for it therefore devote an equal amount of time. The only thing that would make it harder is if you pick any really difficult subjects
Religion and Society (38), IT - Software Development (45) English (35), Chemistry (49), Methods CAS (48), Specialist Maths (50)
ENTER: 99.15

2010 - Bachelor of Science(Maths)/Engineering(Chemical) - Monash Clayton

I'm doing Comm/Eng through the Melbourne Model.

Depends what majors you want within your commerce degree. I think you'll find majors like management + marketing are very theoretical, and there is no one correct answer. Finance + accounting to a certain extent is more straightforward because it's mainly maths and straightforward (ish) concepts.

That said, I've found my commerce subjects to be a lot easier than my engineering subjects. So assuming you do two subjects from each degree simultaneously (which probably won;t last for the entire duration of your course); the overall the workload and difficulty should be reduced.
