Is E.L units 3+4 hard? I'm picking my year 12s subjects soon and i just want a brief description of what we do. I've read the vcaa site but it doesnt give me much of an idea of whether i should do it or not. Any opinions from a student?  :-\

Sometimes it's hard, sometimes not. Some of the concepts can be difficult to grasp (I still can't get the hang of nominalisation), but I find it to be fun.

One way it can be hard is trying to find good/specific examples of features in texts (written, especially). In the recent SACs at my school, we are pushed for time massively, and trying to find examples in the text, and then discuss the effect under the time restrictions can be difficult, especially when the text isn't so good for analysing (in my opinion).

To see what English Language 3&4 is about/what we do, I'd recommend this post.

Personally, I find EL fun/interesting.
