LaTeX implemented on forums

Hi everyone,
 I've implemented LaTeX on these forums. Essentially, LaTeX is a markup language allowing you to format maths equations so they're all nice and stuff, and will help anyone who's posting equations in their post. To use it, simply use the [tex] BBCode in your posts.

Here's some examples:
Code: [tex]\sqrt{x^2+y^2}[/tex]
Output:

Code: [tex]\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}[/tex]
Output:

Code: [tex]\int_{-10}^{10} 2x^2 dx[/tex]
Output:

Hope this is helpful for you guys. I'm still looking for some good LaTeX tutorials, there's one at http://www-h.eng.cam.ac.uk/help/tpl/textprocessing/latex_maths+pix/latex_maths+pix.html which seems quite good :)

To enforce spaces, use \mbox{}

For example:

Code: [Select]
\mbox{Hello world}

Code: [Select]
Hello world

Wow, I just thought of a good use of LaTeX to protect from spam bots.

Instead of the not so pleasant: "username AT domain DOT com", you can avoid spambots and still have your emails look proper to humans:

Code: [Select]
[tex]\mbox{[email protected]}[/tex]

Since LaTeX is printed out as a picture file, spambots cant read it! :) I've now modified my tutoring ad to use this innovation :P

They still can, as the image's location contains the email address: http://stuff.daniel15.com/cgi-bin/mathtex.cgi?\mbox{[email protected]}

Yeah, that's a good point.
IMHO, not posting your email address is the best protection. ;)

Some may also have optical-character-recognition spiders, that can simply read the text in the image.

Hmm... I'll try to obfuscate it somehow then. I'll try to make my email pretty easy to read for a human, and I'll take my chances that there's no OCR spiders (pls)  >:(

EDIT:
Code: [Select]
[tex]\mbox{coblin}@\mbox{gmail}.\mbox{com}[/tex]

Here's my obfuscation attempt.

Huh? If bots can't read CAPTCHA images, I think there's little chance they can read latex.
