Preparing for Commerce

Being unemployed and a little sick of going out, I'm getting bored of my holidays and think I should start investing some time to prepare for Commerce next year :D From what I understand from the UoM Commerce booklets and website, one has to complete 5 compulsory subjects:

1. Introductory Microeconomics
2. Introductory Macroeconomics
3. Quantitative Methods
4. Organisational Behaviour (2nd year)
5. Quantitative Methods 2/Introductory Econometrics/Principles for Market Research/Managerial Decision Analysis (depending on what you major in) (2nd year)

In these subjects, are there any specific topics from Maths Methods that I should go over? What about Further topics? (I didn't do further, so if there were any I should probably go read up on them or something.) Other than borrowing an Accounting 3+4 textbook to learn the key terms (I didn't do accounting either), what else can I do to prepare? I'm thinking of doing a Management/Marketing double major, should I go borrow some books about them or something?

Just want to have a head start while I have the time, that's all :)

Borrow Uni books rather than VCE books, as VCE tends to remove major parts of the discipline and over-simplifies it.

:P :)

Enjoy your holidays I say. If you really want to do some early reading pick up the Introductory Micro textbook and read it.

Unfortunately, no.

Would love to have one. I wanted to qualify for "English as a Second Language" but I have to be born in another country to be eligible =( . But English IS my second language! Lol.

to be eligible for ESL, you have to live in Australia for less than 7 years and not come from a country where english is the first language.

Hey.
If anyone of you guys wants to buy uni textbooks, I have some for sale right here in this thread:
http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,8041.0.html

They have released a fourth edition (for the main textbook) and a second edition (for the case studies book) for Intro Micro. The older edition nevertheless, are still useful (the lecturers give out a sheet that tells you what pages to read in your textbook, depending on your book edition...so even if you have a first edition book, it will still be relevant :) )

Im now selling BOTH the main Intro Micro textbook and the Case Studies book for $20 altogether...if interested contact me :D

Im not sure where you can borrow such Uni books..try your public library?
If anyone else wants a copy as well, send me a PM before January 8 or so because I will only be doing this once :)
