Isn't it cool when you ask a (not so) simple question on here, that doesn't explicitly relate to school/education, and you get four different peoples opinions coming thick and fast?
The wealth of knowledge in these forums is amazing

Yep. I wear a special clip in my hair in exams, and whenever I think I'm gonna have a bad day (e.g. certain Mondays)
You feel lost without it

I had a headband that I wore for every soccer match in a season where we went undefeated, and it broke before my grand final, so I had to wear a different one. Was absolutely devastated - I think I cried when it snapped lol.

But anyway, we still won!
It's not a pleasant feeling to not have your lucky talisman with you, but your exam success will come from you, and you alone. :)

What a coincidence, I just watched a video on luck. Apparently, if you feel lucky (because of a feeling, or a lucky charm etc) you're more likely to perform better because you feel more confident and motivated to do well. So, in a way, lucky charms or rituals do help :)

^The placebo effect is very real.  It's fascinating how much your inner perception of situations matter more than the actual situations; the stories you tell yourself change the outcome so much. #felixfelicis

+1 HP reference

We watched a placebo effect video in psych which discussed the placebo effect being stronger when the placebos were in glossy name-brand-looking packaging than in plain packaging ect.

It's so strange that this operantly conditioned learning (lucky talisman) still impacts us even when we logically know that it doesn't make any difference

can confirm the placebo effect is real since my hand felt so light and I couldn't forget it wasn't there but I think I was still ok

lots of subtle quality indicators like this can have HUGE effects on our experience with different things. i did a subject called neuromarketing last year that talks about that sort of stuff in detail. its amazing the amount of subconscious influence our senses and hard-wired heuristics can have on our brain.

It isn't all that hyped up to be. It can be better to be a night owl then an early bird.
I'm feeling the effects of this in the past few weeks :/

Should I be concerned that I don't have a part-time job now?
I'm starting to see lots of people I know working and here I am typing this on ATARNotes  :-[
