I love how I took 8 hours to watch 3 hours of lecture recordings at 1.5x speed.

Is anyone else's parents not keen on travel? I'm struggling to convince mine to let me travel in the near future, and it's not going so well atm :(

Yeah my parents weren't super keen when I proposed my plans to them, but I paid for it all myself and reminded them that I was a legal adult so they didn't have any say in it haha. If you can travel with older friends or family that might help them - I ended up going with my cousins and when they learnt that they stopped complaining. :)

Where are you planning on going (I'm presuming overseas)? They might be more chill with you going to some countries rather than others.
Really, you've just gotta stick up for yourself and let them know that you're gonna go regardless of what they say!

Actually planning to go interstate 😂
They told me that it wasn't a good idea and the place I'm thinking of going is "dangerous" 😂
What I'm most afraid of is being locked out of home due to their disapproval aha.
I tried telling them that a few friends would be there with me but they're still absolutely not keen 😂

Ah, well in that case they shouldn't have an issue with it haha. If you're going to interstate cities, you'll be fine - if they say it's dangerous, then remind them that crime still happens in your hometown/Melbourne ;) It's in the same country - people speak the same language, use the same currency, use the same phone networks, you don't have to worry about travel insurance - so even if something happens, you're covered.

I told them that, they weren't convinced.
Thankfully they came around, but it also means that I'm doing 2 states/territories instead of just the one (because apparently one's safer than the other )

The overly-concerned parent struggle is real. Took me a whole week to get them to be mildly convinced :')

Just tell them that you're going to museums, knitting conventions and floristry exhibitions. They're suitably vanilla

So chill can be used as a synonym for calm.

Someone can talk calmly but how do they talk chilly without being cold? Is it chill-ily??
