I don’t know why these holidays I haven’t been able to study. I’ve been binging on Netflix and KPOP videos and tbh this is just unlike me. Hopefully I resume to normal when school starts this week smh

Same! Texting is much better but my parents think otherwise :/
My friends and I never call lol- only messaging on Snapchat or Instagram. The only time we call is if we can't find each other during recess/lunch or if we're on an excursion and one of us goes missing.

And then there's that one friend who never has credit or picks up her phone so if we lose her, we're screwed.

LMAOO literally same. Phone calling when you’re trying to find your friend at school is pretty much the only time. Or like when you plan a hangout and a friend ain’t replyin to texts on the day smhh

yeah messages often come across differently to how the sender meant them if ukwim...like u might be joking and someone takes it as offensive. - which is the advantage of video calls etc..

I think E6P might have been speaking about massages - as in, the physical treatment.

An easy mistake to make! :)

You're right, though - online messages *can* be pretty painful haha.

Why do we have social etiquette rules on train seat allocation? What are these rules based on?

I commute 3 hours a day for uni, and most everyone seems to follow these rules for choosing a seat (structured like code because I'm a nerd hehe):
1. Empty rows, picking either the two-seater or three-seater depending on availability first, then preference.
2. Aisle seat on the three-seater, leaving a one-seat gap between stranger sitting by the window
3. Empty awkward six-seater at the ends of each carriage
4. Second seat on the two-seater
5. Last available spot on the three-seater, which 95% of the time is the middle space, because aisle-seat-person always stands up so they retain the better seat
6. Even more awkward spaces potentially available in the awkward six-seater
7. Stand and suffer when the next station from Sutherland is Helensburgh :( (sometimes preferable to 6)

It's a lot easier in Victoria. We have 4 seats facing each other in 2's. People just sit one next to the window and then the other diagonally next to the aisle. The 3rd seat taken is the other aisle seat and then the person next to an empty window seat turns sideways so someone can get through to it. I'm not on trains much, way more experienced in tram etiquette (also known as the mad dash for the seats next to the bendy bit because they're easy to get out of but aren't priority seats.)

But then you've got the 6 seats, and too frequently the last seat left is the one by the window that no one wanted to squeeze into.

I just had the easiest job interview of my life.

Boss: so you keen to work, cunt?

Me: yeah, keen.

Boss: alright, take these home to sign, I'll give you a quick walkaround.

Probably unnecessary advice ---> I don't know what your interview was for so could be completely wrong but that probably means they have a lot of people quitting which probably means they're super dodgy, so don't let them screw you over. But hey congrats on getting the job ;D

Thanks for the advice (and the congrats)! From what I know, most managers in physical labour jobs just disregard interviews and skip straight to the hiring, so seems pretty common (or atleast among my friendship group). I know some of the supervisors in this section and they all told me it's pretty grouse, so high hopes. Will keep it in mind though! :)

Are you implying that people who like science don't listen to them?
