That moment when you are WAY too involved with the Socceroos to give a damn about the fact that Eagles just lost to someone who isn't the Swans... :(

Also, finding this...

This is likely to be a long shot but does anyone have any tips on how to stop hair from getting really tangled?
I've tried a lot of different things and it's gotten to the point that even detangling solution isn't cutting the mustard anymore :-[

Have you tried using a leave-in conditioner? One of my friends swears by it. Just apply it like normal conditioner and it'll stop the ends of your hair flying about in the wind, which helps with tangles

Random history time!
Subject: Nikola Tesla.
Quote
War clouds were again darkening Europe. On 11 July 1934 the headline on the front page of the New York Times read, "TESLA, AT 78, BARES NEW 'DEATH BEAM.'" The article reported that the new invention "will send concentrated beams of particles through the free air, of such tremendous energy that they will bring down a fleet of 10,000 enemy airplanes at a distance of 250 miles..." Tesla stated that the death beam would make war impossible by offering every country an "invisible Chinese wall."

Nikola Tesla drew the attention of the FBI and world leaders in his talk of the 'death beam'.
Later, he offered the supposed death beam as recompense to the hotel he was staying in. Without money to pay the bills, he had wracked up a $10,000 debt (in the 1930's!) to the hotel and become obsessed with a particular group of pigeons in the local park. After Tesla's death 6 years later, investigation went into the box holding the death beam, which was never opened as Tesla had stated that if the proper precautions were not met whilst opening, disaster would occur.
It turns out the crazy old man had faked it and the fancy box held simple, cheap electrical equipment. The debt of $10,000 was never paid.
There's a reason this man is legend!
Just a random discovery I thought I'd share. :)

I am 70% sure I almost joined a cult last Friday night. I went to a metal show with a bunch of mates at the Bendigo Hotel (guess where that's located... Collingwood, correct). After the first two bands, we decided to go get a quick HSP because none of us had eaten at this point. By the time we get back, the fourth band is on...

...instead of playing, the vocalist is saying 'all hail the acorn'. The crowd then chants back 'all hail the acorn'. This went on for about a minute with different variations of hailing acorns before the show resumed like nothing ever happened

That's truly a glorious image :')

I know it's school holidays when my 5 & 7 year old siblings are running around being rowdy early in the morning. I think one of them jumped on my bed around 6am. Insane.

I'd say take it, unless someone is going to scold you for it :)
Best not to waste food, but to eat it ^_^

imo it's respectful to leave it unless you are a young child

But if the room is just adults and everyone leaves it then nobody eats it

I always ask if anyone wants it. If someone wants it, they can have it, I'm not fussed. Otherwise dibs
