I'm now a proud owner of a newborn cousin.
(What a rollercoaster of a week I've had... and it's only Wednesday :') )

Congrats! That's great news. :)

Currently watching ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ whilst cuddling little chicks. Best. Day. Ever.

This, minus the chicks, plus Sour Patch Kids, 3 days ago :)
Good movie right?

Also, a random thought; is it possible to be really smart and really dumb at the same time?

I think that is possible. There are some people that are very smart and academic scoring top marks yet they don't understand common sense.

I would say it's possible. You can be academically smart but maybe not street smart.

And if you dive into the definitions of intelligence, there are different types of intelligence (pretty sure there are 9 different types of intelligence)- you can be logical-mathematically intelligent but maybe not emotionally intelligent.

It is from this that you get the term "idiot savant", meaning "so dumb that their crazy ideas really work. Some have described Albert Einstein as an idiot savant, but I think that is an unfair failure to recognise genius.

Seen on a comment thread elsewhere:
"Engineers are trained to be idiot-savants: savants in the use of math and physical sciences to solve mechanistic physical problems, and idiots in everything else. They don't even know what they don't know and assume that if they don't know it then it wasn't even worth knowing to begin with (e.g. the liberal arts, soft sciences)."

Just sayin'
(BTW, that particular commenter is an aerospace engineer)

I spent the day stressing about an assignment due next week that I've already finished  ?
Bit of a waste of resources there, but at least I shouldn't stress about it anymore
