It's a forum community. Expect criticism - it's how you handle it that makes the difference.

I say this with the greatest of respect - if multiple people are downvoting your post, there is clearly something there that isn't sitting well with the community and therefore may require some reflection time as to why this is occurring and how you can fix it in the future.

Sure, but as it's an open platform you have to expect critique and challenge to your opinions especially if somebody believes they are incorrect. It's just the way forums are (and life, really). You can't expect your opinion and the contents of it to go unchecked. Respectful debate and challenge imo is healthy - provided it stays respectful and doesn't start to turn nasty.. that's when we'll have a problem. I have been a member of AN for over 6 years and the amount of times somebody has downvoted one of my posts or challenged my opinion - I can't even count. But that's the beauty of a forum - it's open, accessible and provides a platform for anybody to voice an opinion (and for others to critique/challenge where appropriate in a respectful and courteous manner).

Obviously given this is another thread where you've started to divert the conversation offtopic, I am going to not post any further and I would encourage you to not post in this thread any further unless it directly relates to "random thoughts" you have.
