Have you noticed a difference in terms of comfort and back support?

Hell yes. It's all about the mattress and pillows as support. I think the pillows matter more to me honestly... I got rid of them too and I haven't woken up with a sore neck in weeks.

Apparently, the mattress will double its weight over a decade from all your dead skin cells.  :o
So I guess it should be replaced or at least cleaned...
That's what sheets etc are for  :o ...? Do you not use sheets or. I replace mine every couple of weeks.

(I cannot believe there is a discussion about bedding right now)

So, Monopoly anecdote.

Today I played it with a friend and it was really weird.

I'd never noticed but I apparently play wayyyyy too fast - she'd roll the dice and I'd instantly be like "$22 please" before she'd even read the number she'd rolled, let alone counted out the squares and checked who owned the property, because I mentally jumped straight to the square I knew she'd land on, and remembered the ownership and exact rent of every single property on the board hahahaha. Apparently I whiz through turns and transactions in seconds...

I stopped doing this as much as possible, and we still finished the game via bankrupting within 50 minutes lol. I felt so BAD constantly charging her huge sums of money at all the wrong times... but that always seems to happen ???

Let's do AN monopoly one day!

Is it true you're meant to replace your mattress every six years or something?

???

I hadn't heard of this before. I just replaced mine when it started to feel really uncomfortable.

When did you last change yours? There's definitely a difference over time.

Does anyone play the card game 'Shithead'?

This sees to imply that I've *ever* changed it! :-\

Is it that card game where players try to catch other players placing cards different to what they declare?
In that case, we call it "Bullshit".  :P

Nah, different games, haha :D Shithead is the game where you try to get rid of all your cards. I'll try to explain the rules.

You need to get rid of all your cards. You go clockwise or anticlockwise, each person placing a card down on the pile. You can only place a card of equal or higher value to the one placed prior. In ascending order, the values are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, J, Q, K, A. If you can't place a card down, you pick up the pile. Then you have your special cards. A 2 resets the pile. So you can place a 2 on any card, and it'll reset the value back to the lowest. A 10 clears the pile -- you put the pile to the side, and it is no longer in use for the game. The 10 is discarded as well. You then start a new pile. A Joker is whatever you wish for it to be. If there are 4 of any card in a row on the pile, it acts as a 10, and whoever placed the 4th card gets to discard the pile and start the new pile.

To start the game:
-You have three cards face down in front of everybody. You can't touch these.
-Place three cards face up (on top of those cards) in front of everybody. I'll get back to these
-Give everybody five cards
-You can swap around any card from your face-up cards with your 5-in-hand cards. You'll want to do this strategically (your highest cards + special cards) as once you have no more cards in hand/in the deck, you have to use your cards facing up. If not, pick up.
-Once you've set all your cards, the person with the lowest value card places one down first. They then pick up one from the remaining deck. While the deck is still there, you must always have 5 cards in your hand.
-Once the deck is gone+5 cards in hand are gone, you can start with the face-up cards.
-After that, you have to use your three face-down cards. This is purely luck, and this is where salt rises.
-First to clear their cards wins.
-Keep playing until the last person. The last person is the shithead.

Hope that makes sense / rings any bells.

BOOOOOO. I think you will find I was getting in on the bedding discussion, so if anything I am now an accomplice to this crime.

This thread is a small corner of a much larger room. I am happy for this thread to remain there :P

Out of curiosity, how well would you handle us saying, "Nah, screw threads, let's just make one big spot where people post stuff and people respond with nested comments like one big FB comment section, with no organisation whatsoever."

No good? ;)

Haven't the springs like...come through and stabbed you yet or something? Is there not at least a Joseph41-sized depression in the middle of your bed? :P

Mattress replacement is every 7-10 years iirc. And pillow is every 2 years.
(Can I just take this time to tell everyone to invest in a good pillow, the money pays itself off for all the times you don't have to go to the massage therapist to fix your dodgy neck from a dodgy pillow).

What's better: the new mattress feeling, or new car smell? I think I'm leaning towards new mattress feeling...

If this happened, I think Aaron would have a coronary. Would not be good for his health
