Note July '11: re-added the uni requirement table, however it is almost 2 years old so these requirements will be lower than the actual ones for 2012 entry. just use these as a guide but keep your goals above these for the best chance of getting in. goodluck

Since people have been asking about requirements for the unis for undergrad med (what UMAT/ATAR required and weightings), i thought i'd post a thread which had all the uni requirements (the most you can really know) for the 2010 entry so you can get an idea.

I have also included here the UMAT overall score vs. percentile as if it says for example requires ~175 UMAT, then divide by 3 and look up that score on the graph to see the rough percentile. THIS IS NOT the actual score on the UMAT, as it has been moderated and scaled so you cannnot know what you got.

yeah it's a secret moderating scaling so each section is /100, as some questions 'apparently' have greater weighting then others and all that, it's quite annoying.

yep, they accept 5 places for school leavers, once you start uni it becomes muuch less though.
this is because the UMAT is the pretty much only requirement for UTAS, no interview and just need to pass hurdle ENTER.

THATS JUST STUPID... my careers teacher just came back from tasmania from a utas promotion, and they are actually wanting interstate students...i guess except for their mbbs program

yeah because it's their only med program and they need doctors to stay in tas. they accept people with fairly low umat after a year of uni (still mid-high 80s though)

On the UAC site after I registered and submitted my application, next to UNSW, UWS and UNCLE it has red writing saying that more direct applications with the faculty at the universities are required by 30th of September, and they're right.
