Do you write summaries?

I find that the lecture notes that I print out are basically summaries of the textbook, therefore I find it pointless writing summaries out of these notes seeing that they're already summarised so basically all I'm doing is writing a summary of a summary. I've tried to summarise these notes but I've stopped and it's a bit of a drag and get through much quicker just by reading the content. Also I find writing summaries is a little slow for me. What are your thoughts?
