Holidays were ok in terms of productivity. I did heaps of essays for my standards but didn’t do as much chemistry and specialist practice exams as I would have liked.

The day was pretty ordinary and I studied heaps after school. The biggest thing that happened was my double English class. Basically the teacher spent 10 minutes going through a one page word document summarising what he expected from our essays. After it, I asked him to correct my essay and he’s like I went through this document so that you could do it yourself. If he expects us to do everything ourselves with a tiny one page, then why do we even have a class? It’s the equivalent of giving us a sheet and saying class dismissed. He spent the whole double period either at the front doing nothing or walking around doing nothing (refused to answer questions). He also said to write some practice paragraphs, but basically said that he wouldn’t correct them cause we needed to wait until we get our practice exams back to know what to improve on. The practice exams are marked by an external marker and we’ll receive them next week, so he’s basically telling us that he’ll do absolutely nothing for the next week. Also, I highly doubt he’d give any feedback for essays after the trial exams are handed out considering his reluctance to do so throughout the year. He’s literally only marked 3 essays of mine other than SACs. Whenever I ask him to mark one, he either outright refuses to or scans for a tiny spelling or grammatical error so that he can tell me to rewrite it again cause he says that I clearly haven’t paid enough attention and I need to prefect my essays before handing them to him. If I could write perfect essays, then I wouldn’t even need to be taught in the first place. I feel like his desire to not teach has really disadvantaged his class. That in addition to his incredibly harsh and at times biased marking makes it so that his classes are unbearable. I feel like he’s really screwed over my class and considering that I know absolutely no one in my entire class that has gotten A or above for all their SACs, it really shows how nearly everyone in my class has just been unfairly treated.
