Side note: for the last couple of days since I got home from a concentration study camp, the internet was acting up while my laptop was sitting in the study, but if my laptop was anywhere else (literally anywhere), and no one had any idea why. It turns out that it was probably because my laptop was plugged into the socket next to the router. 5 days of intermittent wifi later, it's back to normal.

I was just thinking about my Chinese breadth subjects in first year: every class the teacher would pass the roll around, and on average there would be 8-10 people in the classroom but always 20+ names ticked off. Surely the tutor realised what was going on? but she never said anything. Did she just not care? we didnt get marks for attendance but they took the roll anyway because there was a minimum attendance requirement. I don't understand how she could hand someone the roll, with no names ticked off, and have that person hand it back with like 4 names checked off the list?
This should go onto the list of top 10 questions science still can't answer.

also this is my first semester at uni where I haven't met anyone new or made any new friends (yet). The problem has been exacerbated by the fact that none of my friends have uni the same day as me so I just end up watching youtube videos in the msd building all day. at least the internet at uni is like 200mb/s

Agreed. Last semester I had a major group assignment and 4 out of the 6 group members lived on campus. So, every Sunday I had to go into uni for 4 hours to work on it (plus 2h travel time). Was not fun

this is literally me but being a part time student doesn't help
would not recommend to anyone (only did it out of necessity) it's kinda boring and it's not improving my productivity at all

all of my tutes have that week 1 awkwardness for me still, in week 10 lol

So I've basically spent the entire week binging on Gossip Girl, apart from a doctors appointments, a meeting and a lecture and tute I went to. It's the only thing that makes me feel somewhat ok at the moment, of all shows it's surprisingly addictive (no apologies for being 9 years late given that I'm on the second season).

In order to transition to academic work, I'm planning to read Gossip Girl novels instead which requires more mental capacity...

Just have had some thunder roll past, and the lights in my room just flickered twice! :O
