From what I've heard, the whole of Spesh is covered in the first 6 or so weeks.

I don't think it will be the whole of the spesh course. I've seen some of my dad's materials for his work (chem eng), it's all calculus :P

I think if you have done spesh you get an extra slot to take a different elective :)

Yeah, that's what I meant; the relevant parts of Spesh will be covered in the first few weeks, and then they move on to harder stuff.

And I think it's if you didn't do spesh you lose an elective, rather than the other way around.
