Commerce/Eng or Commerce/Comp Sci

Hey, so I'm currently deciding between doing commerce and engineering or commerce and computer science at Monash. I think Engineering would be enjoyable for me personally but I'm questioning whether the commerce + engineering combination makes much sense in terms of job prospects. On the other hand, I know computer science and commerce have more jobs but it might be a bit risky choosing it. I've never done any form of computer science or discrete maths before whereas I know what to expect in Eng (applied math, physics etc.). I also think from the surface engineering would be more enjoyable but I'm also interested in data science too so I'm quite confused.

Any help on how I should go about this situation would be appreciated.

What engineering are you looking at? As it will make a huge difference

Currently undecided but I'm gravitating towards mechatronics and further study into AI. Either that or civil.

In that case Commerce doesn't really tie into the Engineering degree. It's not going to add any 'weight' as such to your degree because the two don't really cross in terms of employment. Commerce and Comp Sci is more of a 'good' combination but it's not like it's THAT much better than Comm/Eng.

If your going to do Mechatronics you will definitely have to do Programming courses, moreso than the other engineering disciplines. Really just go with what you like. Honestly don't think about all this. Courses in this area are already filled with jobs and what not. Just do what you enjoy...
