Nature of biology,  a+  biol notes,  tsfx notes = you're set.
Don't get biozone...  Big waste of time and money.

As for Nelsons,  I've never even heard of it lol.  I'd guess it's a less reputed book?!
If you've skipped 1/2 my suggestion would be to learn your cell stuff,  organelles,  biomacromolecules, enzymes, homeostasis,  endocrine and nervous,  and then stuff on adaptations.

The main things carried over from yr 11 are basically the above..,  the rest,  especially unit 2 is irrelevant.. :)

Jumpstart for chem seems to be useful in summarising 1,2 so i guess the biol ones are alright!

Btw u selling TSFX bio notes?
Yeah, right ..heard that Unit 2 is irrelevant..
Okay..does checkpoints 2011 and 2012 for bio make any difference?
coz I bought the 2011 from ATAR forum and today saw the 2012 one..
Should I get that too?
Ohh, I'm buying Nelson bio for guide as I'm using NoB at school..so it should be fine
Thanks again for the advice.

I personally skipped units 1/2 as well and basically, I don't think it matters all that much really. Everything is re-taught in units 3/4 anyway, except perhaps the organelles which are a bit more rushed, but you can just read up on them during the Summer. Nelson's a good textbook in the sense that it's just the basic concepts explained very clearly. There's not the excess of examples and applications found in NoB, which is of benefit when you're starting out I guess. Personally found NoB more difficult to understand as well even when it did try to explain just the concepts. Never had experience with the JumpStart or StudyOn series. A+ Biology Notes as Bhootnike said is fairly decent. It just simplifies everything down to the basics. If you want some free notes though, I've attached mine which are essentially a summary of NoB.

EDIT:

It doesn't make any difference. They just add in the 2011 VCAA exam questions which you can get yourself free on the VCAA website anyway.

is it useful to get a dictionary for bio?

No, you'll find yourself just using Google the majority of the time anyway. Way better than any Bio dictionary you can buy.

Sorry no idea on studyon!
Sorry already sold mine! But I'm sure you'll find them on sale on the forums :)

Personally I don't think there's no need for biol checkpoints,  simply due to the fact that with biol its probably best to do just all the exams from vcaa anyways!  ( as you'd know checkpoints is just a compilation of past exam questions)
But no,  the only difference is that they would have added questions from this year's exams :) so don't worry about buying this year's! not a big deal really!

Oh ok. Well yeah if it's good then sure!  The more better vce resources the better haha!

And regarding a dictionary...  I'd say no.  The dictionaries out there are way too detailed and complicated!  If you're someone who learns by rote learning.  Just get vce cram cards:)  if you learn things like definitions differently,  its best to understand the concept and define it yourself :)  then get it checked of course!  But again,  biol notes and tsfx provide great definitions anyways :)

Never Heard of Campbells sorry ;)

Does any one has any notes which can post it here for me?
Anyone feel free to comment and give ideas!! :D
Thanks a lot Bhootnike. :P

That's rather expensive!  I don't think theres any need for it tho!

The tsfx lectures are good :). The lectures and notes are definitely worth the money.

Yeah,  I think they are NoB cram cards or some other companies have them,  and they're good! But really,  comes down to what type of learner you are :)

No worries

Oh, i think it should be the StudyOn cue cards which costs 80bucks for unit3+4..
Well, im the one who can't really focus on studying by myself so a lecture for it should be
better. Thanks again and anyone would have any other idea ,pls comment below :D

I had both Campbells and Henderson's; very, very useful if your looking to get a 45+
If you can't afford first hand, look at buying an older edition second hand, or just look at the PDF

Yeh, I didn't make any unit 4 notes. I've attached some which I got from my teacher though.
