Go to sample pages, download each area. Together it makes the whole book (I checked page numbers for first few chapters, no gaps).

I use Key Concepts, which is good because its small, but it looks like it may be missing some stuff, so this is a good supplement.

I'm using the one called "Making & Breaking the Law" produced by VCTA, 9th Edition.

I don't know if it's bad, though from what I've read, both textbooks are good.

LOL I think the textbook is quite good - rather small in size though. I used the "Access and Justice" textbook for Units 1/2, though it was massive - my school decided to change textbooks for Legal Studies Units 3/4 in 2011.

Well, I have only had experience with A&J and Key Concepts.

IMO -
A&J has the best explanations, more questions and lots of case studies.
Key Concepts has lots of pictures that make the book double the size it could be, but has a much better layout. A&J was a pain to follow through for 1/2.

True - the book was massive - some of content in that book wasn't even relevant to the 1/2 course (i.e. Wills & Sport and the law). I'll probably do the same as you - use both books to make notes - in case one book has something which the other one doesn't (or may be clearer).

LOL as am I. Generally I don't buy brand new textbooks (unless I have to!) - I just buy them second-hand from school (which are still in good nick) or from people on VN. The good thing about buying it from people on VN is that they'll chuck in extras that they don't need/or use anymore.
