I'm just posting here because I wanna find out about where each of you see yourselves in 5 , maybe 10 years time. Have you guys thought about this? What is your purpose? Purpose in life shall we say. I'm not talking about short term goals though, I'm talking long term. What aims do you have? What things do u want to do, to change, to achieve? before.......you know.....you leave
Because in my opinion we are not born with a purpose, we are not born with an identity, we create our identities, we find our purposes, so tell me a bit about yourselves. I'm a great listener!

In 5-10 years I'll be 28-33 years old.

I reckon that's a pretty good age for kids (28 to me feels too young - probably more the end of that 28-33 range). I fkn love my job at the moment, so if I'm as happy then as I am now, then that'd be pretty tops.

This is a thread after my own heart.

5-10 years, 24-29.  In concrete terms, idk, the future holds too many unknowns.

But I'd like to see myself running a business/campaign/blog round promoting small consistent kindness and compassion in everyday life... y'know, blogging, social media advertising, speaking, idea generation, YouTube-ing, that shebang. I just want to spend my life promoting connection and compassion and kindness and oxytocin-spreading (hahaha I can't help mentioning oxytocin even when I try not to); I hope to be living that myself more and more, including towards myself, just opening my heart to all and overflowing with love. It's who I want to be.

I also hope that in 5-10 years I'll actually want to be alive. It'd be a super nice change.

Will be 24-29 in 5-10 years like heids... I'll (hopefully) be in full time work as a physiotherapist and enjoying my job That thought kinda scares me though...a lot of responsibility!
Potentially could be undertaking post-graduate studies depending on what I decide to specialise in (if anything)
Otherwise, I guess I'll just be trying to keep it together, because that's what mature adults seem to do I hope to travel the world a bit and experience a lot of new things, too.

I'll probably be stuck researching life-saving medications or in a lab somewhere. (Provided I don't change my mind and do pharmacy as well) 😂

Ages:

Purpose:
With a Bachelor degree and a Masters now, I think i've well and truly satisfied the university component of my life. I was the first person in my family to go to uni . I have wanted to teach for a very long time (I don't know why, given the lack of respect for the profession and the not-so-great conditions at the moment... yet this has not really deterred me). I have been one of those people who has had a clear vision from my early teens as to what i've wanted to do. It hasn't changed one bit. I'm about to start my first full time job so my transition from university to employment has pretty much begun immediately after i've finished up... which is exciting and scary at the same time.

I believe that my skills in IT are a sign - everything has aligned perfectly. The emphasis on coding and IT in schools etc. is starting to grow, slowly but getting there. My aim in my job is to share my passions for IT and hope that more people take it up in VCE and then at university. I like being a mentor, someone who people can look up to and talk to if they need to. Teaching is so important, because you as a teacher can influence a student's life... and that hands-down beats any desk job.

In terms of other components of my life: I would like to develop some educational tech for schools to assist them in some way, travel a bit in my free time and start a family. I agree with Nick, I think that 30-ish age range is a good time to start.

My life is literally now helping young people achieve. Think i've got it pretty good.

Relatable to the whole: CHOOSE YOUR LIFE PATH DURING YEAR 12 comments. Really, it is so normal to have absolutely no idea where you want to be in the future. I'm just an odd case.

So many people change paths throughout uni (e.g. realise what they are studying is not what they really want to do). Just enjoy Year 12 while you still can. Things get very different after.

(I was going to say I miss the school environment.. but I can't really use that anymore. *sigh*)

Yeah definitely not too unusual - and certainly not a bad thing. I actually think that's a pretty smart thing to do!
